    Great Finds for Summertime Travel

When I was shopping for our summer trip to San Francisco, I wanted to find something pretty and feminine I could wear for our special lunch at the Palace Hotel. I knew my daughter would probably chose to wear something more casual like a nice shirt and jeans, so I chose a cute bell sleeve blouse instead of a dress so it would compliment what she was wearing. Today I’m going to share a few of my great finds for summertime. Pink Bell Sleeve Top | Mother of Pearl Drop Earrings | Black Sandals | French Nails Pink Bell Sleeve Blouse This bell sleeve blouse will make a wonderful addition…

How to Throw a Great Dog Birthday Party with Items From the Dollar Tree

This year my son turned 12 and requested a dog themed birthday party…how fun is that! As usual everything seemed to come together for a fun party that was enjoyed by all our guests. One of the main ideas was to serve food in doggie bowls that actually looked like food a dog would eat. This created so many funny moments as the boys devoured their treats. Here is a “ruff” idea of what we served our guests when they arrived at the Dog Party: Dog Water Bowls (made with blue Jello) Dog Chow (recipe here) Mini Hot Dogs Dog Pound Lollipops (Oriental Trading Co) Puppy Chews (Pepperoni Sticks) Dog…

Sea to Sky Gondola: Adventures in Squamish

If you are planning a trip to the Whistler area, the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish is definitely worth checking out. Squamish is located between Vancouver and Whistler. The Sea to Sky base camp is about 2 kilometres south of Squamish, directly on the Sea to Sky Highway/Hwy 99. This fairly new attraction opened up in 2014 and has exceeded projected visitors by 40%. It’s no surprise that this is such a popular destination. With so many different ways to experience Sea to Sky, this was easily one of the highlights from our trip to Whistler. Originally we planned to do the Peak to Peak Gondola in Whistler, but some of our…

America the Beautiful National Parks Pass

Did you know that the United States is home to 59 National Parks and 117 National Monuments? There is so much natural beauty in the US just waiting to be explored. Three years ago we set out on our first family roadtrip to one of the top national parks in the country, Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. While there we purchased the standard 7-day pass for the park, but quickly upgraded to the America the Beautiful National Parks Annual Pass when we realized what a great deal it was. National Park entrance fees will run you about $30 per car for a 7-day pass for one park. This is an amazing…

Get the Look for Less: My Easter Table

How to Shop at Discount Stores to Give Your Home a Designer Look for Less Every few months I look forward to changing up my seasonal decor. Back in February I started plotting and planning how I was going to set up my Easter table this year. Among all the fresh spring decor being put out in the stores, I saw adorable bunny plates in a couple different styles. I didn’t realize I wanted bunny plates until this point, but they seemed to be everywhere…and so cute! I looked online at Pier One, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, Amazon etc and decided I liked the plates at Pier One the best…until one…
