    These beautiful postcard style murals included in the Central Oregon Mural Trail are a collaboration featuring two local Bend artists Katie Daisy and Karen Eland. You likely recognize Katie’s work from her line of greeting cards and illustrated books sold in stores all across the country. I’ve been a big fan of her work for a while now, so seeing her work up close at such a huge scale is pretty great! I love how each of the murals contains local birds, wildlife, plant life and the landscapes that are unique to the area. The hand lettering is very much in step with Katie Daisy’s familiar designs.     It’s a beautiful Day in the Neighborhood! The Mister Rogers Statue in Winter Park, Florida wasn’t on our original itinerary. However, Fred Rogers is a hero of mine so when I heard there was a statue of everyone’s favorite neighbor, I added Winter Park to our Florida itinerary. Fred Rogers Rogers graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL in 1951 with a degree in Music Composition. Seventy years later, in 2021 a statue called “Beautiful Day for a Neighbor” was created to honor his legacy.     If you’re in The Dalles , start your morning off right with a visit in to Kainos Coffee for a delicious cup of coffee. Right away you will notice a fun, colorful space with geometric patterned walls accented with lots of indoor plants. On one side of the coffee shop is a row of tables and chairs, perfect for working remotely. The opposite side has a comfortable sofa and a fun coffee cup mural.
