Enjoy a Delicious Burger at 1188 Brewing Company in John Day, Oregon

After a day of hiking and exploring the Painted Hills, nothing hits the spot like a good burger and that’s exactly what we found at 1188 Brewing Company in John Day, Oregon. We ordered the Bacon Jalapeño Cheese Burger to share and it was one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. Our burger was juicy, bacon was crispy, lettuce was fresh and the bun was buttery toasted perfection. It came with a generous side salad that was also super fresh and delicious with jalapeño ranch dressing. What Cider Pairs well with a Jalapeño Burger? Great question I’m glad you asked! Field and Vine’s Farm to Table Dinner at Blakeslee Vineyard Estate

Our first Pacific Northwest Farm to Table dinner was organized by Field and Vine Events and was held at Blakeslee Vineyard Estate in Sherwood Oregon. The 7-course French inspired meal meal was served family style and every bite was delicious. We enjoyed the wine selections at our Farm to Table dinner at Blakeslee Vineyard. The Rosé and Chardonnay were my personal favorites. What we Ate at the Farm to Table Dinner at Blakeslee Vineyard Our first course was Grilled Fig Bruschetta. This was such a great combination of flavors! The second course included a Baby Kale and Arugula Salad. Another winner. I really enjoyed the vinegrette. The Sautéed Shrimp for…

    Central Oregon Mural Trail

These beautiful postcard style murals included in the Central Oregon Mural Trail are a collaboration featuring two local Bend artists Katie Daisy and Karen Eland. You likely recognize Katie’s work from her line of greeting cards and illustrated books sold in stores all across the country. I’ve been a big fan of her work for a while now, so seeing her work up close at such a huge scale is pretty great! I love how each of the murals contains local birds, wildlife, plant life and the landscapes that are unique to the area. The hand lettering is very much in step with Katie Daisy’s familiar designs. If you are…

A Year of Coffee Flights at Country Coffee

CC Sit N Sip in Boring, Oregon has the most adorable coffee flights. New seasonal flavors are offered every month paired with sweet treats. When we visited in January we decided to make this our monthly coffee date, so I present you with a year of coffee flights recap: January Coffee Flight The Horeseshoe Latte had cinnamon and tasted like the rice pudding my mom used to make at Christmas. This was our favorite. The Cowgirl Latte was the least sweet. I don’t know if I detected a dominant flavor, but it was nice to have something less sweet. The Haystack Mocha had a caramel flavor and was the most…
