Convenient Keto Snacks on the go:

These convenient Keto friendly snacks are great when you’re on the go and don’t have time to prepare something from scratch. I have personally packed all of these keto snacks on various road trips. In fact, I regularly keep Quest bars, almonds, Whisps, salame, cheese and beef jerky on hand for hiking snacks. They are all very portable and most don’t require refrigeration. Although the cheese and salame would be ideal in a cooler with an ice pack, they are perfectly fine for a few hours in a backpack. I wouldn’t trust the chocolate bars on a hike, but the quest bars are completely stable.Convenient Keto Snacks when you're on the Go

Savory Keto Snacks

CHEESE WHISPS Single Serve, or Cheese Whisps Large bag. I’ve tried several different brands of keto cheese “crackers” and trust me, this brand is the one you want. Cheese Whisps are great for dipping in guacamole, flavored cream cheese, salmon spread, artichoke Parmesan dip or especially good with a bit of brie!

QUEST CHIPS: Again, not a health food, but when you’re on vacation and your chip craving sets in, at 4 net carbs, these are the closest thing to Doritos I have found. These chips are very fragile, so if you are packing them, be sure to keep them protected.

ALMONDS: There are some really tasty flavored almonds out there. My favorites are Smokehouse and wasabbi. Be careful to read the ingredients though, some of them do contain sugar. I was sad to discover that my favorite wassabi flavored almonds contained sugar. When traveling I like to get the single serve packs becuase almonds are one of those snacks you can eat a lot of without realizing it!

PILI NUTSHigh in beneficial fats and just 1 g of carbs per serving. Great source of Magnesium, Vitamin B-1 and Manganese. Great for on the go, hiking, and camping. These nuts are also a splurge, but I’m including them anyway in case you wanted to try something new. Pili Nuts come in a variety of flavors including Himalayan Salt, Pizza, Ranch, Chili Garlic and Turmeric Blend.

BEEF JERKY: Tillamook just came out with sugar free beef jerky with zero carbs!!

PICKLE BITES: Can’t you just buy a jar of pickles? Yes, of course, but these individually wrapped pickle bites are really handy if you are packing a lunch or need something to snack on while hiking and you don’t want your bag/purse/backpack to smell like a pickle factory…or leak pickle juice everywhere.

BABYBEL CHEESE: This semi-soft cheese comes sealed in red wax and is the perfect size to pair with a few slices of salame. You will find these for less at Costco. To insure freshness, Amazon ships this cheese with a freezer pack. As a result the price is a little higher than normal. I’ve included the link for those who may be unable to shop at a grocery store and prefer online shopping.

SEAWEED: Seaweed is not a traditional snack for many people, but if you are craving a salty snack with a light crunch, this will hit the spot. If you’ve never tried roasted seaweed before give it a shot. It may take a couple to get used to, but I can vouch. My kids love them and when they bring them in their lunch at school, other kids enjoy trying them as well.

Sweet Keto Snacks

QUEST BARS: These are great snacks for traveling and although like most protein bars, they aren’t exactly “healthy.” I enjoy Quest bars because they are low in net carbs and I can eat just half of one and be completely satisfied. They come with us when we are hiking, or if we have a long travel day and don’t have time to stop for a meal. Flavor options include Cookies & Cream, S’Mores, Blueberry Muffin, White Chocolate Raspberry, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Cinnamon Roll, Coconut Cashew, Double Chocolate Chunk, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Apple Pie.

KETO COOKIES: There are many great keto cookie recipes out there. If you are pressed for time and want something pre-made, these are the best option in my opinion. At just 2 net carbs per serving, these are a great choice for a grab and go cookie with a pretty good ingredients list.

LILY’S CHOCOLATE: This chocolate bar is sweetened with stevia and has just 3 net carbs per half chocolate bar!

CHOCOPERFECTION: I used to buy single chocolate bars from Natural Grocers, but they have since discontinued selling them. I was so happy to find them on Amazon, however, you have to purchase them in boxes of five. It’s a splurge, but totally worth it. These are tasty, melt in your mouth chocolates and just 2 net carbs per bar!

GUM: This peppermint flavored gum is my gum of choice. I’ve been chewing it for a couple years now and I love it. Often when you are on the go you don’t have time to brush your teeth after eating. This gum helps to make your mouth feel minty fresh. Spry also makes mints, so be sure to look carefully when purchasing to make sure you ordered the gum.
