Junk Refunk: Vintage Market

Junk Refunk: Vintage Market

Junk Refunk Vintage Market

Today there were three amazing vintage junk sales on my calendar that I wanted to explore. Two of them were within 45 minutes of each other, so those are the two we decided on. Our first stop was the Outdoor Vintage Market at Wade Creek House Antiques in Estacada. This was set up like a farmers market combined with other vendors selling antiques and handmade repurposed items. I didn’t end up finding any treasures at this sale, but my friend Anne walked away with a cool rustic mirror framed in barn wood for her bathroom.

These pillows are all the rage over on Instagram and I was hoping to find one for Boring, Oregon, but unfortunately, they were all sold out…so I ordered one!! Eeeee! I’m so excited. Well, as excited as one can possibly get over a Boring pillow! I’m hoping to have mine within 2-3 weeks!

Vintage Junk TreasuresAfter stopping for lunch and driving for nearly an hour we found ourselves in Canby for the Junk Refunk Street Market. By the time we arrived we only had about an hour to shop, but with the 99 degree hot sun beating down on us, that would prove to be more than enough time. I’ll spare you the sweaty details, but it was seriously so hot out there it was hard to focus on our junking mission. I know, hard to imagine, but true. Luckily some vendors set up misters and fans to help us stay cool. From the moment we arrived I could tell that I wouldn’t be leaving empty handed. There were so many fun re-purposed furniture pieces and home decor items. Lots of trendy farmhouse styled things and a whole bunch rustic decor. My first purchase was a cute burlap pillow with the work “Blessed” painted on it that totally reminded me of the one I saw at the Street of Dreams, only smaller. Then I found the camera for my vintage camera collection. It’s my second Brownie and my first with an attached flash.

As it got closer to closing time and the venders who had been cooking in the sun all day started packing up, they began making deals. I found this set of vintage/reproduction keys and knew it would fit perfectly in the gallery wall I started in the living room. I made an offer and walked away paying only half price! Super excited to get them hung up on my wall! On our way out we stopped in an antique store and right away I spotted a bin of old furniture hardware and as luck would have it, there on top was the exact handle that was missing on my French Provincial dresser I purchased years ago! Just the other day I was thinking about changing the knobs out because I had no idea where to find such a specific drawer pull, but there it was, just when I least expected it!

That’s about all for now. I have six more Vintage Junk/Flea Markets on the calendar from now until December, so keep your eyes peeled for more treasures!!
